Rob and I were up by 3 am. Ready to leave by 4 am. At the airport by 5am. Checked in by 5:15 am. Getting coffee and tea by 6am. Boarding the plane at 7am. And arrived in LAX around 8 am PST. Picked up by cousins (thank you Karen and Shannon) by 10 am. Breakfast at Denny's with my cousins at 11 am. Dropped off at San Pedro Port by noon. Rich and Nan arrived by 12:10 pm. Boarding the ship by 12:30 pm. Lunch and drinks by 1 pm. In our cabin by 3 pm. Ship departed by 4 pm. And we were officially on vacation!!!
Some other highlights from day 1 - Rob and I went and checked out the spa and signed up for some drawings. We also joined the VIP spa for the week. At 6pm the spa was having their drawings so we went up feeling hopeful that maybe we could win something. Well, I did!!!! I won the Ionithermie Algae Detox treatment. It was kind of funny, because with just one treatment you can loose up to 10 inches around your waist, so there were a lot of angry women when I won it. They jokingly said "she's too skinny to win that." I didn't know if I should feel flattered or guilty. But I was just happy to have won!! We had dinner reservations at 7pm and finished just in time for a lovely sunset.
It was a great day!!
